Cast

Sal Calanni

Sal comes to the West Coast from the sunny, enchanting shores of Lake Erie where sits a town called Cleveland.  He was working in a biomed lab in Cleveland cleaning various sizes of rabbit and rat feces.  And then one day, for some reason, he felt unfulfilled, and decided to pack up his rusty, 2-door, hooptie Chevy Cavalier, and head for California with no job in mind and no place to stay.
He ended up in San Francisco, and although it lacked in the same picturesque views as his hometown of Cleveland, he made it his new home and ended up finding comfort in comedy.  For the past few years, he has performed all over the Bay Area.
Sal’s comedy paints pictures to audiences with a whirlwind of characters.  He enjoys describing his Italian background, well actually Sicilian, lot of people don’t count that as Italian.  He also likes to express his opinions on race, politics, and whatever else is real to him on this rollercoaster ride we call life.

Omied Far

Omied Far grew up a poor boy in Mississippi. He may be short on talent but he’s long on dreams. He’s also very handsome, according to his mother.

Geordie Martinez

Geordie Martinez is half Irish and half Mexican. This unique cultural mix makes him a Mickican. He has a proclivity for drinking too much tequila and getting into fistfights with himself. Geordie’s unique sense of comedy is divined from thousands of hours spent studying graphic novels and dungeon-mastering. Geordie is the “Bugs Bunny & Roadrunner Hour” wildcard of the sketch comedy group Tossing Alice. As a living cartoon, he has a wicked ability to create sound effects and imitate voices. A true triple threat, Geordie is “pleased as punch” to be a charter member of Tossing Alice.
On a side note, he likes to surf craigslist for M4M ads and thinks no one knows he’s doing it. He thinks if he flushes the cache on the browser, it’s all cool and no one will know what he’s doing. But we know. We know everything.

Katie Motta

Katie came to Tossing Alice with experience in Improv performance. The only girl of the group, she captures the audience because she is so charming and fun to be around.

Paul Trask

Paul is the son of poor Mormon immigrants. Paul has a strong work ethic, and a workman’s hands. But mostly, Paul has wives. And we like all his wives. Especially the cute red head in the gingham skirt. What’s her name again? How do I become an "elder," Paul?

Greg Edwards

Greg Edwards was born and raised in Hampton VA. He left his country home to pursue his dream of being an actor/comedian in 2001. The big city lights of Oakland and San Francisco has made Greg Edwards The best black comedian in the Bay Area. Southern hospitality and life experience is his inspiration for comedy, If Greg is on stage you better expect real in your face comedy.

Former Cast Members

Robert Selander
Robert Selander is a guy who is funny. He tells jokes, makes funny faces, and falls down a lot. This guy also writes a bunch of crap and bosses people around. He calls bossing people around, “directing”, but we all know what it really is. Robert lives in San Francisco… but grew up in a tiny town called Sonora. He moved to San Francisco because he hates country music and people threw stuff at him there. He threw stuff back, and sometimes threw stuff first, but we won’t go into that. A lot of people think that Robert is weird, but in reality he is a genius who’s eccentricities will one day cure cancer or some other stuff that kills people. If you kill people, he might even try to cure you. Just don’t kill him. Listening to The Cure is also a favorite pastime of Robert’s, as he sometimes likes to put on makeup while crying.” Love Song” is one of his favorite songs. But don’t think that this little boy is a pussy because he will shank you in the blink of an eye… and then go cry about it. Robert is also a part of a theatre company called The Primitive Screwheads. They rule the universe with an iron fist. Tossing Alice also rules the universe with an iron fist, but it’s an alternate universe, so it’s a whole different ballgame. Either way, Robert’s got his sweaty little hands involved in ruling two different universes. So don’t mess with him. If you are currently messing with him… run. Run for your life. You don’t even want to know what will happen if he catches you. In conclusion, Robert is way cool, so send him lots of money.

Ian McVey
Went to L.A. to join the Groundlings… some group we’ve never heard of before.

Ian Jensen
According to his biographer, Gaius Tiberius Nero, there is little known about Ian before his 18th birthday. But interviews with local magistrates indicate he spent many hours working hard to make his already forbidding features even more comedic by practicing grimaces in a mirror (or any shiney object that caught his eye). He is passionately devoted to the circus and stage. He likes to spend his summers in Gaul waiting for the golden leaves of autumn.

Matt ("Alice") Morales
Once caught in the swamp trap that is Slidell, Louisiana, Matt found himself washed up on the shore of the San Francisco Bay. While asking for directions back home Matt accidentally performed stand-up comedy at an open-mic and became a part of the San Francisco stand up comedy scene. He can now be seen at clubs and colleges all across the Bay Area and beyond.

Mary Woodbury
Mary Woodbury is the original token chick. She spent many years in and out of standup and sketch comedy. Currently, she lives in Hollywood, Ca and gets paid to watch TV. When not at work, Mary pets her goldfish and watches TV for free! You can learn more about her at www.myspace.com/trombonemary. Check out her weekly editorial at www.comedyexpresstv.com.

Sound Design

Mark Tyne
Although it’s hard to tell sometimes, Mark has very little comedy experience, but gets away with it because he’s so menacing and good with sound and music.
